Kaleem Dawson is the Founder & Creative Director of Yellow Folks, known for its India's first cloud company: a creative and marketing agency with no office, no 9-to-5 and no rules on where or when you work. We handle logo design, branding, brand books, website design, motion graphics, mascot and character design, packaging, SEO and social media management. We are a Gen-Z company that does not bind creativity in any way. All we ask is great work and a deadline to cover.
Kaleem Dawson started working while he was in 11th standard, on a project with an IITian at a company called Craftila, founded by Mr. Siddharth Maheshwari and Piyush from IIT Roorkee. This was in 2010, when Flipkart, Chumbak, and Snapdeal were still startups. Even then, Kaleem was already working as Head of Design, without any degree.
He later left the position with the aim of getting into one of the best design colleges, NIFT, where he studied Fashion Communication, starting in 2013. During his studies, he was also building a startup called Freeda Creations, which grew into one of the leading Indian bag manufacturing brands. He worked on it alongside his cousin brothers while continuing his education.
After completing college in 2017, he got his first placement at Jaipur Rugs as a Graphic Designer, which was one of the highest packages of that time. Kaleem chose to take the job while continuing to run his dream company, Freeda Creations. A few years later, he left Jaipur Rugs and started working full-time on Freeda Creations. He opened exclusive stores in Udaipur, Gurgaon, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Pondicherry, and everything was going well. However, in 2018, Freeda had to shut down due to personal reasons.
Kaleem then joined an ad agency called ASOT in Gurgaon. After that, he moved back to Jaipur and worked at Art India as a Marketing and Communication Executive for four years. He then got an opportunity in Udaipur, Rajasthan, with a company called Beyoung as Head of Design, and later left that company. But Kaleem was never someone who could stay stuck in a 9-to-5 job. He stood back and built a new company, now known as Yellow Folks, India’s first cloud company, which gives people the freedom to work without boundaries.
